There's a TV in My Head
A friend of mine was reading the titles of the 170+ future books and asked me where do i get all the ideas from. I gave him some blanketed answer like, "I get them from things I see in my travels, on TV, or from my dreams." But there is another source of my creative process. My own mind.
I never realized how many stories were already in my head until I started playing reruns of the experiences of my life. This also included all the movies, sitcoms, and shows I saw in my youth.
The experiences of High School, Catholic parochial school, and college. I grew up in the ghetto so there is a mountain of material in just one year of living in that world. I'm surprised I only have 170 titles now. But I suspect that will double or triple in the near future.
That's why I am so baffled when I run into people who say, "I wouldn't know what to write a book about." Unless you were a cadaver that was pushed around in a shopping cart all your life, you have a book in you. You just have to take a minute to find it. That is if you're a writer. If you're not, hire someone to write it for you.
