Can You Hear the Trumpets?
On November 2, 2019 I started the character list for the above named novel. This book is going to be a spiritual thriller (I think I just created a new genre lol). The main character is a 13-year-old Jewish boy named Joel who just had his bar mitzvah. He is given a special gift during the celebration by his bubbe (grandmother). It is a shofar, a horn that was handed down to his family through generations.
The story starts out in New York City but ends up on the high seas of the Atlantic Ocean.
I finished the 11 chapter outline on November 10th, but after entering chapter 2, I became convinced that the book was going to be a lot longer than anticipated. Already smaller events are taking on a more essential role in providing a more impact to later chapters.
I was hoping to make a Christmas launch date but, because I don't know squat about boats and (dare I say it) I've never been on a cruise before, I'm wearing out my Google and friends ears.
The other thing that will make me miss a Christmas launch is the fact that I can't turn my brain off. While working on this book, two new books popped in my head. "School Bus 533" popped in my head during a dream on November 22 at 5:33 a.m. I reached over, almost falling out the bed from a sleep induced stupor, grabbed my iPhone and immediately put in the entries for the book in the notes app. (I learned my lesson from a couple of years ago when a book came to me while I was at work and didn't write down the notes. Got busy with life and *POOF* gone forever). Then, on November 26, I was watching a movie and a random commercial came on. There was an image in it that made me come up a new horror called "The Path"
Now if I can put on my blinders and focus, I might be able to release this book by January and the other two book by Valentines day (I really should stop smoking crack lol)
Wish me luck!
"Throwing Stones at a Glass House!"
